Patras Drone Academy is a certified training center, with recognition in the Special Category for Standard Scenarios STS-01 and STS-02 by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This certification allows the academy to offer high level training for specialised drone missions, following the strict safety and regulatory standards set by EASA.
What is the Standard Scenarios (STS)?
Standard Scenarios are predefined operating scenarios for drones, created by EASA to simplify the licensing process and ensure the safety of flights. The two main STS are:
- STS-01: It concerns flights in populated areas with short distances (VLOS – Visual Line of Sight) or close to people & Drone with C5 marking tag.
- STS-02: Covers Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) flights in uninhabited areas, with controlled environmental hazards & Drone with C6 marking tag.

The Patras Drone Academy, with its certification in STS-01 and STS-02, offers the necessary theoretical knowledge which includes a wide range of topics covering the requirements and specifications of each Special Category.
Our students will gain knowledge about the legislation and regulations governing Drone in Greece and the European Union as well as aviation knowledge about flight safety, risk identification and more.
In the practical part of the program with individual flight training , our students will gain practical skills and experience in handling the Drone, identifying and using the various sensors and equipment, as well as performing special operations for the STS-01 (PDRA-S01) and STS-02 (PDRA-S02) classes. Students will be trained in a real & safe environment and will gain the confidence to respond to real situations and challenges always based on EASA regulations.
