How drones can help the police in their work.
The use of drones by the police is a relatively new and rapidly growing trend. It is important to assess the benefits and challenges associated with the use of drones to ensure that they are used in a responsible and ethical manner, some of which are:
Surveillance:
- Drones can be used to monitor large areas such as parks, stadiums or event venues.
- They can help identify suspicious persons or activities.
- They can be used to monitor emergency situations such as fires or floods.
Search and rescue:
- Drones can be used to search for missing persons, especially in difficult areas.
- They can be used to map disaster areas after natural disasters.
- They can be used to transport medical supplies or other equipment to remote areas.
Traffic policing:
- Drones can be used to monitor traffic and detect traffic code violations.
- They can be used to regulate traffic in the event of traffic accidents or other incidents.
- They can be used to record accidents.
Data collection:
- Drones can be used to take photos and videos of crime.
- They can be used to create 3D maps of crime scenes.
- Be used to identify and record fingerprints and other data.
In Counter-Terrorism Operations, drones can be used to monitor suspected individuals or groups, as well as to assess potential threats to Crowd Management where drones can be used for crowd control at large events or in the event of riots. Our Border Protection has shown that drones can be used for border surveillance and the detection of illegal intruders. & of course to combat poaching where drones can be used to detect and track poachers.
With the increasing use of illegal actions, the Drone in the hands of the Police forces will be a great asset for the protection of our Citizens.
