The Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS)

B-VLOS stands for “Beyond Visual Contact Line” functions. This means that the pilot of a drone does not make eye contact with the aircraft. Instead, the pilot handles the UAV using Remote Pilot Station (RPS) / Ground Control Station (GCS) instruments as well as a physical observer. Pilots are trained differently to fly B-VLOS drones. Must have theoretical and practical training to obtain certification & to perform B-VLOS flights. During the training they acquire knowledge of navigation in unmanned flights, meteorology, performance and flight planning, mitigation measures (SORA) and flight rules. These are necessary due to the additional capabilities of the aircraft.
